Overall the weekend wasn’t actually bad at all. Got my goldwing to fire and run for the first time and my on call shift wasn’t bad at all. Sunday I threw up my new Ranger that I haven’t had the time to deal with on the jack stands to do a rear brake job and saw this...
A busted main leaf spring. Every time I dig into this guy I find another thing wrong. Never anything too major or expensive, I just don’t have enough time to keep wrenching on something that’s supposed to be an easygoing beater pickup truck.
This one is the last straw, I have a box of parts waiting to go on her and not enough time to do the wrenching. I’m going to button up a few things and sell her.
Anybody in the St Louis area want a decent Ranger project? It is really in solid shape overall, I just don’t have the time or desire to wrench on this guy. If I have the time to wrench, I’m going to do it on my motorcycles, or on my old CJ.

That sucks. I’m sorry you had to call it a day but if you’re not enjoying it there isn’t much reason to keep going at it. I fired up some sanders in order to get an exact picture of my Camaro’s rust issue. The good news is that I was able to confirm my thinking that there isn’t any structural issues. The bad news?
A patch panel should do the job (I did sand the rockers after this pic to make sure they were solid. They were.) I just need to find somebody who can weld well enough to do the job.
